Jennings was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and now resides and works in his studio in Boca Raton, Fl where creates his artwork through drawings, canvas paintings & sculpture marquettes. The epiphany was the realization that objects do not need to be limited to their prescribed roles. Jennings reinterpreted the ladder to reveal life forms and reflect social behaviors through his anthropomorphized marquettes. His first two ladders, a male & a female, became the best of friends & expanded beyond. Hence, they are trademarked as "My Dear Ladder Friends."
Jennings most recent project is know as The Giraffic Hands. The idea stemmed from viewing the rather large & animated hands from a 10' tall stainless steel sculpture Jennings titled Silver Lady. The idea of proportionately reducing the hands to cocktail skewer/stirrer size came to be. This simple idea made a piece of art memorable, manageable and affordable. The Giraffic Hands are a mirrored finish stainless steel cocktail stirrer/skewer and tailored for both the classic Martini glass and the Bloody Mary glass.
Jennings is a Juried artist and has exhibited his canvas art at Jadite Galleries in New York City, New York, sculptures at the Cornell Museum In Delray Beach, Fl, The Artist Guild through the Boca Raton Museum of Art, One night Only Premier Gala event held in Boca Raton, and recently held a private exhibition at Jennings Residential Studio & Sculpture Garden in Boca Raton. In a nut shell, we are a product of our experiences. However, we are not limited to them, for as we process moments we may look around and within ourselves and sense the discovery of an intrigue beyond what we see or or are feeling. I cannot say that I am out looking for things to do, because ideas just seem to appear. Those are the good ones. Those are the ones that come upon with a magical connections and ascend in me. I do not ask the who, why, what, where and when questions, because those questions might inhibit the experience. Is there one answer? No, not really. Is there one word? Yes and it's Art. The process is fascinating and genuine and the ascent is wonderfully light.
I play around with a multitude of mediums: willow charcoal sticks, pencil, paint, wood, and metal, in the process and development of an idea. My commitment to a or a combination of mediums is defined by my anticipated outcome of the physical piece and then there is always a surprise for me with its continuous.
